About Us

Our logo, the delta symbol, stands for change, and change is exactly what we deliver. Every waste stream we touch is an opportunity to do something better with it, recover more, dispose of less, and give our clients something they can actually measure.

Who We Are

Built on chemistry. Grown through trust.

Environmental Green Group was built around a simple conviction: that industrial and commercial businesses deserve more from their waste management company than a lorry, a skip, and a generic contract.

Over more than 30 years, we've developed deep expertise in the waste streams that require genuine technical knowledge, hazardous liquids, metalworking fluids, chemical waste, ADR transport, industrial demolition, the complex end of the spectrum that volume-based national carriers aren't built to handle.

We're based in Darlington, operating from a 17-acre site we're moving toward being fully off-grid. Every tonne we manage is processed within the UK, through permitted and verified facilities, with no exporting, no landfill in the Global South, and no vague sustainability claims.

From footprint to handprint.

Compliance is our baseline, not our endpoint. Through our Carbon Handprint™ framework, we help organisations turn their waste programme into a measurable source of positive environmental value. To date we have helped UK industry avoid 12,400 tonnes of CO₂, offset £8.4 million in financial liability, and protect 14,850 high-risk assets. Every Environmental Green Group client receives a monthly Verified Carbon Handprint Certificate quantifying the circular value their waste programme has created, giving ESG teams, procurement directors, and investors the verified data they need, in a format that holds up to scrutiny.

Complex waste needs more than a collection contract.

There's an important distinction between a company that collects waste and a company that understands it. National carriers are built for volume. They're optimised for straightforward collections, standardised contracts, and centralised call centres. That model works for simple waste streams. It doesn't work for yours.

The businesses that come to Environmental Green Group typically have waste streams that require genuine technical knowledge: hazardous liquids that need correct characterisation before they can move, metalworking fluids that contain recoverable value if handled correctly, ADR-regulated materials that carry real liability if transported by the wrong operator. These aren't edge cases for us. They're what we were built for.

Meet the Team

People who know what they're talking about. Environmental Green Group is led by people with genuine technical expertise, not just waste management credentials, but chemistry knowledge, regulatory depth, and the kind of on-the-ground experience that only comes with time.

Rob Jones

Managing Director

Rob has founded and scaled specialist waste management businesses three times over, which means Environmental Green Group isn't a first attempt, it's a proven model built on hard-won experience. As Director, he brings the kind of operational depth that only comes from having navigated compliance frameworks, built service infrastructure, and solved the problems most companies don't see coming until it's too late. Environmental Green Group exists because Rob identified a gap in how the UK manages its most complex waste streams  and built the team and capability to fill it properly.

Matthew Bartle

Sales & Marketing Director

Matthew brings over 30 years of relationships across UK manufacturing  working with plant managers, EHS teams, engineers, and procurement leads who know what real operational pressure looks like. That background changes the conversation. Rather than selling waste services, he helps manufacturers see waste as a controlled part of their operation: one that affects cost, compliance, safety, and reputation. If you run operations, EHS, or procurement and want a straight conversation about what's actually possible, Matthew is your starting point.
